Frequently Asked Questions

  • Sports massage is suitable for everyone - not just athletes. While I do regularly work with athletes, I also treat office workers, gym-goers, and anyone experiencing muscle tension, stiffness, or discomfort.

  • Your first session will include a brief consultation to understand your goals, lifestyle, and any injuries or concerns. Treatment will then be tailored to you, followed by advice or exercises to support your recovery.

  • Session lengths can vary depending on your needs (e.g. 30, 60, or 90 minutes). Longer sessions allow for more in-depth treatment.

  • Wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing. Depending on the area being treated, you may be asked to remove certain items of clothing, but your comfort and modesty will always be respected.

  • Monday, Wednesday, Friday are mobile sessions so will be home visits. Sundays are based at Essex Clear Ears in Rayleigh Highstreet (136 High Street, Rayleigh, SS6 7BU) where this is space for parking.

  • Yes. As part of your treatment, you will typically be given 2–3 targeted exercises to support your recovery and help maintain results between sessions.

  • No, sports massage is just as effective for prevention and maintenance as it is for injury recovery. Many clients book to stay pain-free and improve performance.

  • Yes. With a background in Sports Rehabilitation, I can assess and treat a range of musculoskeletal issues and guide your recovery with appropriate treatment and exercise.

  • This depends on your goals. For general maintenance, once every 3–6 weeks is common. If you are recovering from injury or training intensely, more frequent sessions may be recommended.

  • Sports massage, particularly deep tissue work, can feel intense at times. However, it should always be within your comfort level. I will communicate with you throughout the session to ensure the pressure is appropriate.

  • Not exactly. While it can feel beneficial and relieving, sports massage is more focused on addressing specific issues, improving movement, and aiding recovery.
